shrug. I don't get why money is the reason to get or not. I'm more interested in who is the front runner.

hilary, BS , bush (lol) and trump (again lol) should have it.t hey are the 4 actual that have a chance.

If money wasn't a requirement you'd have about twenty candidates getting SS protection.

yes he would get it. he is one of the GOP frontruners (sadly). I don't care what he said in the past obama. that doesn't mean shit.

I'm surprised that it's based on money. kinda silly actually.

I agree with you here 100%. Seems like common sense to me.

I'm gonna flip flop here and say he does need secret service protection after I read this:

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/trump-implies-bush-deserves-blame-9-11-article-1.2400524

Donald Trump stuck a shiv into the Republican establishment Friday by suggesting former President George W. Bush bears some of the blame for the 9/11 attacks.

"When you talk about George Bush, I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time," Trump said on Bloomberg TV.

Bloomberg anchor Stephanie Ruhle appeared stunned by Trump’s remark.

"Hold on, you can't blame George Bush for that," she said.

But Trump, who is leading the pack of Republicans running for President, would not budge.

"He was President, OK?” the GOP front-runner said. “Blame him, or don't blame him, but he was President. The World Trade Center came down during his reign."

Trump’s crack sent shockwaves through the Republican ranks

Holy fuck! He is going to be needing some heavy duty fucking protection now!

Kennedy had secret service protection. A lot of good it did him as they mysteriously vanish just seconds before he takes the super magic vaccuum cleaner bullet that sucked his head back and left a gaping entry hole and a tiny exit hole. The irony is that even though these guys obviously couldnt have saved him, they surely would have seen up close which direction the bullets had come from, and would have blown that bullcrap story apart from the beginning. Not that it would matter since most people are so gullible as to believe any bullcrap story pushed by the controlled media.

The bullet was shot from inside his head. Recoil pushed his head back, opposite the direction of the exit wound just as you would expect. The ejected shell is what people are calling the "entry wound".

No magic bullet, just surgery before he took office to have a kill switch implanted in his head if he ever crossed his benefactors.

I'm just saying, but you only started posting here not even a year after 9/11.

I'm not saying anything, but I'm just saying, it's a fact alright?

Except that's not pissing me off like it's going to piss off the Bush establishment.

I really wouldn't want the SS to protect Trump because Trump would take them to sex orgies, champagne keggers, circuit gambling runs, private dinner parties the likes of which were never meant to be dinner parties and Trump would demand that his SS sidekicks join in on the fun and let his own security folks do what they do best.

Those poor SS guys would quit the Service and get hired by Trump. We don't need that.

Quoting for when Bernie wins, I've been waiting almost 10 years to one-up Waggy.

Yes, he should be given SS protection

Whatever minuscule sum it takes to provide Trump SS protection is worth the destruction he's causing to the American Reactionary party.

All presidential candidates should receive SS protection based on the legitimate needs. If the existing requirements fail, then they need to be revised. Perhaps the level of security should be based on the size of the crowds that a candidate attracts, and not the amount of money raised. Yes, there needs to be a some reasonable way of distinguishing between Joe Blow, who is not an viable candidate and attracts a dozen people per stop, to a real candidate who needs real protection. I include Hillary in this as well, though I'm sure given the amount of money she has raised, SS protection is not an issue.

Concerns about this agency are real. Columbia is one past issue. So are the numbers of crazies who have hopped the fence at Pennsylvania Ave. One guy with a knife got inside the White House. It is a tough job, but there have been too many fails.

Both Trump and Carson are now going to get SS protection.

http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/trump-carson-threats-secret/2015/10/17/id/696743/

The agency's decision was primarily triggered by a significant number of threats to Carson, including death threats and terrorist chatter, the source said.

The threats to the retired pediatric neurosurgeon have been "off the charts," the source said. Polls show Carson either tied with Trump for front-runner status or in second place.

Oh good, now he can ramp up his threats and insults.

Trump is that guy in the night club who throws empty bottles at people behind his security detail and screeches; "don't let them near me! ::bottle throw:: don't let them near me! I'll fire you if they get near me!"
