Even that's not true. Mankind could easily raise enough food to feed the planet given the oppertunity at this point in time; it's simply not economically feesable. That said, people dieing, even if natural, it one aweful form of population control.

china gets ragged on it all the time, but imo its a really good idea with the population they have. africa should definately have it. they got people with like 10 children and all of them with aids, and all of them starving. theyre making the problem waaaaaaaaaay worse.

Overpopulation effects everything from oil imports to fresh water supply and available housing. You can't keep squirting out kids and expect zero effect on available resources. And further more the full cost of having those kids should be paid by the parents ie.no dependent deduction..no home mortage deduction and tuition for public school education. Taxpayers shouldn't have to finance your desire to raise kids.
