Should the swastika come back as a symbol of good luck?

I learned today that the swastika was a symbol of good luck before if symbolized Nazi power. Did the Nazi's take away a good luck symbol that worked or what?

There's a huge variety of swastikas of all shapes and sizes. Some have never been employed by Nazi, others were and are used by neo-nazi parties all over the world.
I believe the stigma is too great to use this symbol again (even if it's a different shape than the nazi one)

Ya, I dont think anyone will ever forget that that symbol was used by the Nazis. Its still plastered up in all the WWII movies and games. It think its done.

I suppose it's different in some cultures... But western civilization will never accept the swastika as anything but a symbol of hate and death.

One of my Indian friends has a swastika hanging on his wall. Looks great as long you understand what it is.

The swastikas that's the Nazis used are different than the swastikas used in religion. They're opposite directions if you look closely.

Who needs a symbol of good luck? I'd rather have the actual good luck, myself. A swastika is a lot more likely to bring you smashed windows, dentist bills, or creepy bald friends with closets full of assault rifles.

Funny you should ask. There's a guy around here who has a Nazi flag in his window. He's quite strange, though friendly and polite. You won't believe his last name. Yes, his last name actually is...

...

...Lynch.

Think of the anger a Confederate flag still brings. While you may understand what it means, many will not educate themselves and learn the true meaning.

Agreed. Areas of the world not so knowledgeable of or influenced by WWII still use it, but beyond that, for the rest of us, I can't see and wouldn't agree with it being used again.

People need to stop being so oversensitive. After a while, all the whining builds anger, and a backlash against the whiners is created.

Hehe.. The last name "Hitler" and the "Hitler Mustache" aren't making big comebacks, either... 🙂

First of all, no, Hitler burned it into our minds as a symbol of his regime and the most cruel atrocities ever committed.
Second of all, why would you want them as symbols of luck? Are you some kind of horoscope reading superstitious idiot? People post this same question every now and then, and in my opinion they are just trying to be "controversial", because luck obviously doesn't exist.

I imagine that after enough time the symbol will come back and the association with the Nazi party will be just another foonote.
