just a thought I had while watching this past week's episode... I don't think I laughed once. I'm going to cancel my tivo's season pass for the Simpsons, I think. it's just gotten way too awful to watch.

i watched the simpsons religiously for a very long time... but stopped watching them a few years ago because the show got painful to watch. It is constantly bad in every way and i feel bad saying that because at one point it was a great, funny, edgy show. Not anymore.

i watch it every once in a while, not as religiously as I used to. I have every old episode on the computer as well as all the DVDs, so i watch a good episode after a terrible new one comes on... it balances things out.

oh, and the show should not be on the air anymore.

my theory is the writers are saving all the jokes for the movie.

I always get a chuckle out of the show, but no... it should have ended a few seasons ago. Family Guy has taken over with a vengeance.

it's been crap for the past ~5-6 years and the movie will be crap. Fox needs to can it and become the hardcore porn and violence network they were meant to be.


They should without prior notice replace the simpsons with The Shield.

Nah, Family is getting pretty annoying to me. I might be in the minority here but I much prefer South Park.

south park has been the most consistently funny of the cartoon sitcoms, imho. what are they in the 11th or 12th season...obviously not every ep. is a knockout but SP is good for 3-4 knockout shows per season...its the way they make it. doing it the week before, that way it will always stay fresh & be relevant & timely with the jokes.

family guy doesnt have staying power. its not funny when you re-watch it, b/c inane sight gags are only funny so long.

there were some good eps in season 16 of simpsons...the one where bart gets really fat was funny. there are a couple other ones i liked from that season. i havent kept up all that well recently. if you dont like it, dont watch it. problem will take care of itself.
