Should the SETI 3.0 GUI be faster or slower than 2.04 GUI on a P133?

i'm gonna guess that its slower... its really well optimized for chips with full speed on-die cache. not for slow cache, like the p133.

then again, the version 3 does new science. so ethically you should go to v3.

Yeah, go ahead and upgrade, but only on the P-133.

Ken, I'm running v2.70 on this C433. It's the fastest client I can get. I might run 1 WU from the 3.0 CLI on the P133 tomorrow and see how long it takes.

Seti V3.0 CLI look like it's running slower on my P100 times used to be 37Hrs-42Hrs Per WU. The one that I'am one now (first WU on V3) is at 48% done and at 35:15 Hrs :frown:

I have found that 3.0 cli is definitely faster than 2.7 gui on a P3 550E --- my times are down from 8.5 to around 7 hours. My performance drop is due to handing over one processor to RC5 ta_seti@hotmail.com miniteam.

Thanks Mad Pierre, I'm going to stick with the 2.04 GUI on the P133 until I get to 500 WUs.

JawaJedi, do you want the 2.4 CLI, or the 2.04 GUI? The 2.4 CLI is still up here, and I can send you the 2.04 GUI if you need it. Are you on the Team AnandTech SETI team? I don't remember your name.

Yeah, i am, but i just joined a few days ago... and i only have 2 machines running it (sometimes 3 when i'm lucky) so i get very few WU done... thanks for the link to 2.4... yeah, CAN you send me 2.04? my email is in my sig, thanks.

Isn't that deadline just for the CLI clients? I thought it said there currently is no deadline for the 2.x GUI clients.
