Should the non-OPEC nations create a cartel and strangle OPEC nations?

Most likely OPEC has a marginal effect on oil prices/production these days but even so, principally it's pretty damn evil. So I say non-OPEC nations create a cartel and restrict product/export of supplies to these countries to counter their benefit in oil and to "maximize the price" of food.

I know this isn't realistic i'm just venting.

OFEC organization of food exporting companies, I think thats the only thing the US exports in decent quantity that the world demands.

If the OPEC nations shut off the taps, how are farmers going to be able to afford to grow, process, and ship food?

Not nearly enough horse & wagon teams left to handle the load...

I say we sell them food at $115 for what they can shove in a 55 gallon drum.

If they dont like the price, they can eat their fuckin oil.

Town of Cedar Knolls police force just idled most of it's car fleet in favor of horses.

All the other towns around here in New Jersey are filling stables up and training officers to do the same thing.

I like the idea. Let them try to grow corn in the desert. But the way the system works and the so called "FREE MARKET" (I bet you or I can't go out and buy into a hedge fund) of those commodities, it won't work.

Also, oil isn't in 55 gallon drums, IIRC. It's 42 gallons.

42 gallons it is.

That's why I put oil in terms of per gallon.

It is currently $3.48 per gallon
