What do you think about the govt buying the Hunting Ingalls shipyard and all the property of Halliburton, Boeing, General Electric, and other contractor (i.e., subsidized/bailed out) companies for a fraction of what they're worth (under eminent domain) and then selling all of said property to pay off the Federal debt?

I think it's a good idea because then the MIC would be neutered and no one would want to contract with the govt anymore. I realize that they're private companies, but I think the subsidies/bailouts should be undone and that the public/private partnershits need to end. The man who established the nation in 1776 was against fascism as was the CSA. The main reason the CSA seceded was because they were sick of being forced to bailout northern corporations... if only they had won the war things would be a lot better today.

I prefer the earlier Pokemon games, where Team Rocket was the only thing a young trainer had to worry about. Things are unnecesarily complicated now.

I agree with ending bailouts but your idea doesn't make sense. If they are bailed out and the government owns say 80% of the company why would they use eminent domain to take something they already own?

Probably because all that would be just a small drop in the bucket.

The past week I've been reading the book Bailout by Neil Barofsky. Some interesting reading.. I'm about 1/3 through it, just at the point in 2009 a few weeks after Obama was inaugurated when TARP was quietly expanded from 700 Billion to just over 3 Trillion dollars.

I've heard numbers that the bailouts ultimately cost in the neighborhood of 14 to 16 Trillion dollars.. I'm starting to see why.

My opinion, the US is really bankrupt but the powers-that-be have managed to keep covering it up by shuffling numbers around and lying to the press..

So, in order to undo the bailouts, we (the government) will need to find a way to come up with an additional 15 trillion or so.. IOW, it will never happen.

Please Op for your sake, seek Medical help in Canada because the drugs you will need to fix your rampant paranoia would cost a 1/3 of what it would in the States.
