a friend of mine (really, it is my friend...) just had a one night stand with a male friend of hers
she is really attracted to him and would like to date him now, but is too scared to call him. it would be too "awkward".
they have only been friends for a short while, and thinks they may have become friends from initial attraction.
so what should she do?

As to the issue I have to agree with Phunktion. Call him...now...

Unfortunately, depending on the guy yellowplastic might very well be right. As much as it makes me kind of sick...many men will think that way.

However, if he is a guy worth spending the time on, they may still be able to develop a healthy relationship, just because they had sex to soon doesn't mean it's beyond hope...but most guys hate it when women play psychological games. Tell her to be open and honest about what she feels, and she may be able to salvage something good with him. On the other hand yellowplastic might be right, in which case she'll know the guy isn't worth a relationship, at which time she can decide if she wants a purely sexual relationship.

Hahaha! Isn't it ironic? For it is that exact feature I ask of guys: candidness. I don't feel I've gotten straight-forwardness as I sought. So you know, I decided it was best to play games to unravel the mystery of guys' slickness.

In any case, back to original topic: And why would she not? For a lady who's gutsy enough to sleep with him that early, she should be gutsy enough to approach him straight-forwardly. Approaching him straight-forwardly allows a big opportunity for she to witness his true nature.

It is likely he would say "yes" in this case. But I bet ya it will be the dumping game in a very timely fashion.

So, in a nutshell, she knows the answer already. It is up to her which of the two matters more to her: Long-term relationship or short-term relationship? The latter is certainly highly probable with this guy.

P.S.: I think e-mail would be sucha bad idea. E-mail allows one hide easily . . . and I doubt that is what she wants. She is more likely to get a straight-forward, honest response via real contact.

huh? email is more likely to get you a real answer. three options, he likes her, he doesnt' like her, he doesn't like her, but still wants to bang her. for the first two, you are more likely to get a real answer through email, when the pressure is low. think about it, if you like her, you'll say yes no matter what medium. if you don't like her, you're more likely to turn her down when you don't have to hear/see the disappointment. if it's the third, it doesn't really matter, people get played over the phone just as easily as over email.
