Should Sen. Ted Cruz be recalled?

Leading a divisive and reckless wing of the Republican party, this man shut down the government for 2 weeks and he ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING. In other words, he jeopardized the economy, people's jobs, and the credit of the United States, all in order to lead a Quixotic and self-serving charge on a health care law that never could have succeeded in the first place.

Is this truly the type of person that Americans deserve as a lawmaker? Should his actions be rewarded or punished, what do you guys think?

Update: Mr. Cruz's hometown paper now regrets it's endorsement of him http://www.chron.com/opinion/editor...y-Bailey-Hutchison-4898405.php?cmpid=opedhprr

Does anyone else miss Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison? We're not sure how much difference one person could make in the toxic, chaotic, hyperpartisan atmosphere in Washington, but if we could choose just one it would be Hutchison, whose years of service in the Senate were marked by two things sorely lacking in her successor, Ted Cruz.
Wow, even his own hometown paper hates him.

Let the people of the state he represents decide.
He represents them; not you.

recalled? no.

voted out? yes.

in essence, he was pretty much elected by his constituents to be a thorn in the side of everyone that disagreed with him...so he's kinda performing above expectations.

He hasn't accomplished much of anything towards his goal--unless his only goal is sewing chaos (think of him as the Joker).

It would be tough to recall him if that's what his people wanted. I wager they like such ineffective child-men leading them.

So he would need to be voted out.

I'm against recalls in principle and I'm pretty sure that you can't recall people elected federally.

That said, it's pretty telling that his hometown newspaper has retracted their endorsement. The guy is an embarrassment.

LOL, Democrat temper trantrums.

The Democrat equivalent of demanding Obama be impeached for some nebulous non-reason.

Stating the facts and asking if someone should justifiably be recalled constitutes a "tantrum"? OK, you're not being subjective at all! :D

You're giving him way too much credit there.
In any case I don't believe Texas has provisions for recall elections, and even if they did I'm not sure there are enough intelligent people in the state to vote him out.

Yes, it's a tantrum. Because unless you are his consituent it has nothing to do with you.

And justifiability is subjective, not objective, so it has nothing to do with facts unless you can point to a specific legal provision that he has done something wrong.

This is just partisan sour grapes. You're no better than idiot Republicans, you're just an idiot Democrat.

I get your point, but it's still not a tantrum. Even if I couldn't partake in a recall, that doesn't preclude me from asking the question. What you don't understand is I'm not throwing a temper tantrum at all, I'm asking if he should be recalled for his reckless and divisive actions which have done so much harm to the country.

Ted is the only person who is standing up for his values.

And he should be removed from office because of it?

Absolutely not.

What actually did his actions do?
What were the actions?

This is a problem that has festered for months; he did not snap his fingers and force the sequester of the slimdown.

It was a joint effort by Congress itself (House and Senate) (Dems and Reps), encourages by the WH cheering from the sidelines
