Should people from foreign countries refuse to come to the US for the World Cup?

IMO if you come from a foreign country with a lot brown people that don't speak English stay home. I hear you can go to Canada or Mexico if you want to watch in person.

It's not safe for you here. Hell, it isn't safe for people like me and I was born here.

Actually, the nordics will be affected too, specially the Finnish.

Only the Russians will go and sabotage cheer the teams.

I think I mentioned this back in February when all the tourist detentions were starting. After reading what happened to that Chilean tourist in NYC this weekend, I’d recommend all Latin Americans stay home for the Club World Cup starting this month. If there are any issues this year, their national teams should beg CONCACAF to petition FIFA for a change of venue.

My son got his fiance' over from Spain I think last week. It is a K1, he had went to Spain to teach English for a few years before returning to stay with my Mom in FL.
She said it was scary going through the process, and told to make sure she DOESN'T overstay. It is a 90 day visa but she has been here before, this second fiasco. We went down to meet her and visit my mom and brother.
My son has known her for several, like 5 years. Hope they get to tie the knot.

I mildly discourage any type of foreign tourism in the US as long as there is a Criminal in the White House and a fascist gang of lunatic extremists daily doing damage to our government and our country.
On the positive side, last Sunday I was in Bishop CA having lunch and met a British traveler who was hiking the Pacific Coast Trail. I gave him encouragement, and there was also a consensus at the bar and restaurant about how low my country has fallen as an example of human progress, morality, civic responsibility, and common sense. No -- my country is lower than crocodile piss, you don't have to spit on it but just don't come here.

As long as the Criminal is in office, I say screw the hosted sports events, and especially screw his stupid military parade idea during middle of June.

Overthrow any criminal regime by any necessary means. I could even encourage help in this from our allies -- particularly the Five Eyes. Well -- I've been on vacation and time to leave Anandtech and catch up on my newspapers. F the MAGA and F Trump, and if you're a normal human being living among traditional allies -- don't come here and spend your money.

RESIST!

I wonder contractually if World Cup could pull out of the US. Wonder if there is some clause in the contract that would allow. Ex: if there was a natural disaster they could move the venue.

Trump will find a way to fill the stadiums, the issue is that the sportmanship spirit won't be felt, even worse, don't be surprised if they goes the Russian way and starts to drug the opponents and pull the dopping their ones.

I think Trump will relax the rules for visitors and try to make the event succesful. Like Hitler did in the 1936 Olympics.

We need to have a rating system for immigration detention facilities, where users can leave feedback. Something like Tripadvisor or Kayak.

I think a lot of fans will end up skipping it due to conditions here. Lots of empty seats between people not making the trip and people from the states not really a giving a shit about the beautiful game.

Well. The issue is worse than that. Trump will find a way to sabotage the FIFA and the World Cup to promote their sports instead, which is not that great compared to football or even other sports like volley.
