Should Pedophilia carry the death penalty?

Should someone found guilty of pedophilia be given the death sentence?

Not much can be done to rehabilitate them so why bother keeping them around? They will only do what they're naturally inclined to do, which is harm the young. Why not just kill them rather than waste valuable resources on them and let them go so they can committ more crimes?
 
In many cases, yes.

Unfortunately, "pedophilia" is attached to many things that aren't actually pedophilia.

Child molesters, of children less than 14, (just a random age, can be adjusted), rapists, (forcible rape, not "oh, my parents found out...RAPE!") and habitual criminals should all be executed.
 
As Ive previously noted, sex offenders are a dime a dozen these days. And while I think we are overpopulated, we shouldnt undertake the DP lightly. Sandusky was an insane nutjob - a serial killer of innocence and a forcible rapist. Those boy's futures have been altered forever and the decisions that are made or might have been made have and will be influenced knowing the disgusting things that happened to them.

Instead of the death penalty, we could adopt the Sharia law system of taking hands, feet or genitals. Since this is America theyll probably just go on SSI disability, however. :'(
 
Child molesters and child rapists deserve the death penalty. But before killing them, the family of victims should be allowed to torture the criminal as they see fit, behind a closed door. If it results in the criminal's death, oh well, saves us tax payers more money.
 
Pedophilia =! child molester. Agree with killing molesters, disagree with killing everyone who sees a girl who turns out to be 16 or something and thinking that she's hot 😛
 
Pedophilia isn't even a crime. It's sick but if you never act on it then it's not illegal.

Child sexual abuse, however, IS a crime, in all its forms. Death penalty? I don't know. I think some state's supreme court ruled a few years ago that the death penalty was not an appropriate punishment for child rape. Not that I'd be sad if someone did kill a child rapist but it also seems reasonable to say that in order to take someone's life, they must have killed someone else first.

Sometimes death isn't the worst result, a child that is a victim of child molestation or rape may endure greater hardship, enough they wish they were dead instead of alive. So to me, a crime like that should be punishable by death, easily.

what exactly is the death penalty accomplishing? versus life in prison, besides that it's cheaper
