Should OS go on Raid 0 Array or other Hard Drive

I just ordered a Asus A8v w/ A64 3000+ and I'm trying to figure out how to setup my drives.

I have two identical WD 7200rpm 60gig drives and I'm planning on putting them in a RAID-0 array. I'm wondering if it would be better to install the OS (WinXPPro) on my single 80gig Maxtor 7200rpm drive or on the WD RAID setup.

The computer is going to be used for video editing (and gaming).

You almost have the same setup I do, but i'm using two 36.7 raptors for my RAID. Umm...are your two 60g SATA? Anyways, I think maybe it depends on what you want. My boot times are longer on my RAID drives than when I had it on my 80g maxtor drive. However, running some apps and installations have been considerably faster on my RAID drive. I hear a lot of people put their apps/OS on their RAID and storage usually on the 80GB. If you really don't care about your boot time and what not, and you really just care about how well your apps run, I say OS/APPS on the RAID. Can't go wrong either way IMO.

In a couple days i'll be putting my OS back on the 80g to check performance differences. I dont' think my apps will run as fast though. we'll see.
