1) biden is doing it
2) other presidents have not done it
3) i get it... even republicans (reagan included) haven't done it
4) did i mention that i understand that other republican presidents have passed, too?

hey, he wants to hang in chitown over memorial day, fine with me...

but i just wonder, from the political standpoint, how he can decide that this wouldn't be worth the effort, especially when he is commander in chief and his commands are actively adding new plots to the cemetary...

people think rand paul has a tin ear?

i'm sure there will be lots of vitriol here on both sides, but i'm really just looking at this from the perspective of who the heck is advising him these days... you'd think that they'd be really working the things that they can to make him look presidential and loving the folks, troops, etc...

i just scratch my head at the state of political management these days, especially when they're in a fight for seats in a couple months... i'm ok with his supporters saying this is a non-issue, but it seems like this is an easy, slow pitch to people like sean and rush...

Obama should not waste his time on these ceremonial gestures. Instead, he should be trying to fix our economy. We're at 10% unemployment!

I don't see the big deal. He is still going to attend a ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Other presidents have skipped out on the one at Arlington before, and he has been to the Arlington ceremony in the past.

Looks like Obama is doing what he does best; acting like a celebrity.

I was pretty pissed at first but now I'm kind of glad. He doesn't deserve to be there and would be a disgrace to the people that gave their life defending America. He would just be spewing words he doesn't believe in by trying to honor them. He has no honor.

Initial comment retracted.

You're just as bad as Hacp with the garbage that comes out of your mouth. I hope you get some help and pull your head out of your ass. It's people like you that make reading P&N like walking through a waist-high pile of sewage.

Since we are at war, he should do it since he is the Commander In Chief, Biden makes me long for the days of Dan Quayle.

If he does, he'll get shit. If he doesn't he'll get shit. Please feel free to put in any modern era president in that 'he' area. R or D.

I had to put up with it from dozens of posters during the previous administration. You can too. Plus, deep down, you know I'm right on this issue. He positively hates everything America stands for. All you silly liberals were much worse during Bush so it is you guys that made this kind of speech acceptable. Reap what you have sewn.

Deep down, I know you're a partisan hack who seems to lack the ability to think critically and take everything to the absurd. You're like the Glenn Beck of ATP&N. Just because mindless-trolls where loud during the Bush years doesn't mean that it is appropriate to continue that kind of behavior.

Posts with one liners or everything is taken to the extreme do nothing for debate and just show a lack of critical thinking. I feel sorry for you, that you're trapped in your little world where you think Obama is under your bed and out to steal all your money and freedom.

Well since you probably were still in diapers during Clinton's terms you can be forgiven for not realizing that it started then.

IMO, he should do it. He's got AF One at his disposal. He can jet in and get it over and done with if it's going to cut into his vacation time.

If I was his political advisor, I'd do everything I could to convince him to be there. He may not realize he's sending yet another message by skipping it, or maybe he does and that's the message he wants to send.

I was well out of college when Clinton was around and didn't have a problem with him. I don't really recall people bad mouthing a president much until the later part of Bush's term. But mention Obama's name in a room and everybody will turn to teeth gnarling, cursing, angry insults about him. It's MUCH worse now.

He's still going to be at a ceremony at a national cemetery. If he's 'sending a message', the only people that will be reading that negative message are nutcases like Spidey, who already hate Obama. Plus, both D and R presidents have skipped out before.

You've got to be kidding me, the Right hated Clinton so bad due to him doing to them what he did to Monica.

And then the nurse comes around with meds and fresh diapers and things quiet down for awhile, right?

You claiming you never heard bad mouthing of the Pres during Clinton's term says everything about your honesty and your awareness.

Well maybe he was living back in Hog Hollar then and didn't have access to TV or a Radio.

Or it could have been that I was younger, more liberal, hung out with people just starting in their career not paying much taxes and as such didn't hear much negative things by association.

Now my friends are all successful professionals and as such, they hate Obama.

Fox News didn't even start until late 1996. Rush was around but he was about it on the radio. I suppose 0.02% unfavorable coverage in the media (At least for the first few years) would be too much for you and your ilk.. :D
