Should "Module Configuration" be taken into account when purchasing RAM?

Could someone please explain to me whether I need to know about "module configuration" when I decide on what RAM I need to purchase?

What does this term "module configuration" [eg 64x64, 16x64, 32x64, 64x64, 128x64] mean when speaking about RAM and does it relate to the capacity of the RAM eg. 16X64 is for 128mb, 32x64 is for 256mb and so on..?? I need to purchase 1 X 256MB DIMM SDRAM Non-parity, PC133 3.3v so should I also look for the MC spec as well?

I always thought the module configuration just relate to the path by which the memory is stored and didn't relate whatsoever to the size of the ram so you can have 256mb that is 32x64 and/or 16x64...

Sorry for the boring topic but RAM can never be interersting lol. Thanks to anyone who posts some help..

It means the number of chips on the actual RAM stick and their capacity. A 512 stick of ram made of 16 32M chips is, to you, no different to a stick with 8 64M chips.
Makes no real difference at all.

You guys are great! Thanks a lot for helping me out and clearing that up, I was a bit stumped there for a second :) Even the online helper guy at memorystock got it wrong claiming that the MC relates to the size of the RAM :)
