Should Lifers get some sort of Golden Key?

I laugh when I see "lifer" held up as a badge of distinction. It was instituted as a sarcastic mark of derision for those who had proven beyond any doubt that they had no real life -- like putting "kick me" on the back of a dork. Like it or not, it was meant to be synonomous with "loser".

Still, terms take on lives of their own, and "lifer", like "niqqer" and "freak", has been proudly appropriated by those it was meant to deride. So, wave your "lifer" flags high and sing along with CSN&Y:

Almost cut my threads, it happened just the other day.

It is a FACT that the category of "lifer" was intentionally given a derogatory title by the people who run this forum. They were disgusted that post count without any other distinction had created a mindless zoo of yammering nef babies. OT (and P&N) is simply not held in high regard by the people who created this COMPUTER INFORMATION forum. None of them were ever big on AOL chat style, you know?

And look at you, treating Lifers with derision. At least the Lifers didn't have to lick Mod ass to get "Elite" status. Oh wait...I forgot. Some around here can get Elite by giving it to themselves.

I wonder if I'd become elite too if I got into an Internet pissing Match with some guy named Texmaster.
 
Lifers should be given the key to the executive washroom. That way you can clean it for the Elites who actually get to use it. 😛

I am issuing an apology to perknose, I am under a great deal of stress right now and I'm a bit more waspish than usual.

I, for one, am in favor of abolishing post counts; hell, the Mods can ban me if they want, it'd serve me well anyway. This is, at the end of the day, an internet forum, and one not worth getting excited about or devoting too much time to.
