Should John Walker be executed?

John Walker is a traitor, and he has committed treason by raising arms against the US. That much is CERTAIN. The question here is what we should do with him. Are we to make excuses for the kid and blame the forces of Islam for corrupting him? Sorry. As corruptive and vile Islam is, his indoctrination into it, was of his own doing, and was encouraged by his parents. There can not and should not be an victimmization portraits being painted - America is to aware and sensitized to fall for a Patty Hearst spin game.

I think the kid should talk all that his beloved Islam has given him. His "heart" was touched by the Taliban's Cause (or so he said), so he should therefore suffer the same fate as those to which he aligned himself with.

I swear, if this becomes another Patty Hearst thing, I'll will personally berate the Dubya till he cries.
 
He joined the Taliban to fight in the Afghani civil war, before Sept. 11th. You guys don't know anything and you've already decided he deserves to die.
 
I dont think he should be treated any way different than the rest of the taliban. I dont think he should ever be allowed back in the country, but unless theyre going to execute every single one of the captured taliban soldiers, he should not be treated any differently. He's not one of us anymore, so he should not get special treatment, for better or for worse.
 
Executing someone is a stupid form of punishment, the person should be made to rot in jail for their crimes, then they will have a long time to think about what they have done. Oh and they should have to work to pay the wages of the people providing them with food, and housing (meaning hard manual labour)

The U.S. had no troops in Afghanistan prior to October of this year.

they should turn him over to the northern alliance, that way, no trial is necessary, they can just execute him pronto
any american that fights against american soldiers is a traitor
 
I have lost all faith in the US justice system.

They persecuted innocent victims, who's "crimes" were totally innocent in nature...

while the real bad people, get off scott free

okay...I'm referring to the the people who had been accussed of crimes in the high tech sector recently

 
Yep, the death penalty. He'll be tried before a military tribunal, and be given either live in a military prison, or be the first American put to death for treason in a loooonnngg time.

The word is that he was in fact involved in that prison uprising, in which US forces were as well. He was one of the last group of Taliban rounded up there in the prison, one of the ones they flushed out of the basement with water. He was captured with a weapon on him, and he had been wounded. Sounds to me like he was actively involved.

EXACTLY! Because if you don't treat him the same as all the others, then we are nothing but hypocrites.

Let's calm down... we don't know the facts yet; let's get everything out on the table. We don't know if he was forced to fight or not. This will take a long time to go to trial and personally, I doubt they will try him with treason. And no, he can't be tried in a military tribunal since he is an American Citizen from what the DOJ has said.
 
no way, these people look foward to death a bit much. endless sin would be a far better punishment, install a glory hole in a maximum security prison, and strap him down for 12 hours a day🙂 who knows, maybe he'll start to like it hah

Because he was with the Taliban and he IS an american citizen.
 
Yes.If they are American citizens and they took up arms against the US.

He is a POW. By federal law, someone is expatriated when they are members of an armed force engaged in hostilities against the US. John Walker is no longer a citizen, and has to be treated like any other POW.

yes, he should be executed. Military trial, no going thru the judicial system. After reading todays CNN article -- the American tax payers do not need to be footing the bill so that that piece of garbage can have a fair trial and then eat up more money with appeals. Military trial -- swift, clean, and to the point

Heck the guy is barely old enough to vote... probably teen angst gone dreadfully wrong. I think he needs to be put over his dad's knee and spanked! He still has the look of pissing his pants. He is one scared Kid... His death would bring no joy to anyone

He was a member of an Al-queda group (Al-Queda is the non-afgahnies) funded by Bin-Laden. He was trained in Bin Laden's camps and fought against the Indians in Kashmir.

He has fought in the military of another entity, an entity the US classifies as a terrorist organization and perpetrated the worst case of Mass-murder in our history. Is he guilty? You bet your ass he is.
