Should I watch BSG?

It seems to have quite the fanfare here at 'TOT. I didn't want to ask the question in the season finale thread cause I don't want accidentally read the spoilers.

Whats the show about?

THe last few seasons have been really tedious and disappointing. I'm only watching because I've watched all teh previous seasons and curious to see what happens.

Were the first few seasons really good. Man this show has been going on fora very long time, like star trek

it hasn't been going long at all.
seasons did take a break between..so it seems longer.
start with miniseries/pilot.
and no the last few seasons weren't tedious😛

I know some people really love it. I got the first season on HD-DVD from Netflix and didn't care for it, so haven't watched any more of it.

It started out well but went downhill. I quit after season 2. The miniseries and season 1 were quite good though.

only 73 episodes... that's like 3 seasons of a regular network show.

season 4 started in 2007 and just ended last night. lol.

I love it, and I don't even have a problem with the last couple of seasons.

The original mini-series and first season were totally mind blowing. The second and third seasons were a bit slow and you could tell the writers were sort of just making it up as they went on. I thought the last season was pretty decent - the writers seemed to have found their voice and it had good direction.

The series finale was arguably the best finale for any show I have ever seen.

Overall I wish the show had more science content. Don't get me wrong there is sci-fi content but nothing on the level of something like Star Trek . If you like a show that is more about the characters personal story then it is a good show.

The pilot was great but all the religion in it got very old very fast.
