unfortunately that window of opportunity is probably closed. its too bad b/c it seemed promising.. but the technology got too caught up in legal issues/patents etc that the product kept getting pushed back more and more...
Its not about opportunities of opening or closing, SED was an interim alternative and never a long term solution. Potentially a slightly better alternative to Plasma and LCD but certainly not better than OLED. For SED to make sense we'd need it NOW (or most likely last year), otherwise it'd be quickly kicked to the curb by OLED, which is why it hasn't been further pursued.
