Hi
I have been reading about the failure of the IBM 60 GXP hard drives and was wondering if I should install the patch that is on Windows98SE update site that is suppose to help
I am running a P3 1000 with the IBM harddrive.
SO, should this patch be installed or should I just take a chance that the h.d. wont fail.
Thanks

I dont know what patch your talking about, but the 75gxp is the one that has the reputation for failing, i have some 60gxp's and no problems, but a software patch wouldnt stop the drive from failing, well give me a link a let me see what your talking about ..

The patch just slows down shutdown for a couple seconds so the info that is stored in the hd's cache can get written to the disks and not lost.
