Should I use my NF7-S' SATA connection on my PATA WD drive?

There is no benefit to doing so, unless you were planning on doing it to run it in RAID or something...

What petery83 said...think it's a given. Now a WD Raptor 10K rpm sata will make a diff.
I used the adaptor and eventually bagged it because the little ah heck kept cutting out
sometimes. Think vibration from case fans loosened it. Maybe if I'ld taped it on it would
of been OK. Due to that I didn't care much for it. Maybe plug it into a optical drive just to
get some use out of it.

I replied to your question in the Sticky thread. Not all of us disregard it and honestly I forget to check it regularly.

I wouldn't bother unless you're going to be running a RAID or need the extra IDE channels.
DieHardware, the NF7-S's SATA controller is on the PCI bus.
