Should I use Dual Channel memory on my Dual Channel MOBO

My computer recently started rebooting and I've spent weeks trying to figure out the problem. One thing I overlooked was just before my PC started rebooting I placed two 512mb sticks in dual channel mode. My Intel board supports Dual Channel but my memory is Non-ECC, and Non-Dual Channel. The brand name is Ultra so I'm not sure if that's a good brand or not.

Should I be able to run Non-Dual channel memory in dual channel mode without any problems? I've only been able to test the PC for a few hours after changing the memory back to single channel. I didn't have any reboots but it's completely random and could happen today or two days from now.

Thanks

shouldn't be a problem, as long as the ram sticks are the same size, speed, etc. there is actually no such thing as "dual channel ram". Ram that is advertized as dual channel is done so because it is 2 sticks of the exact same type, so it's sure to run together. In some high end Corsair (and probably other brands too) the 2 sticks are supposedly tested together before leaving the factory, and are thus guarenteed to run together.

What I would do is test the 2 stick seperately, to make sure neither has any problems. Do this by running prime95 (test 3) and memtest86 both at the same time for about 24 hours, on each stick. As long as you are running at stock speeds, neither test should get any errors. If they both check out fine. It might be that the 2 are incompatable. Did you buy them seperate or together? What were you using before?

Edit: Oh, and mechBgon might kill me if I didn't warn you about one more thing. If that power supply is the "X-Connect" or wahtever, that could deffinately be the problem as well. A lot of ppl have been having problems with it. Do you have another (more stable) one you can use?
