Should I use a Public Defender or hire a private Attorney for DUI?

I am wondering if a private attorney will do a better job. If not, I would stick with a public defender and let the law throw the book at me.

did your girlfriend make you drive?

just show them your posting history and they'll understand, they might even give you a twofer and throw her in jail instead...

Neither, just tell them it was not you. THEY have to prove their case; MAKE THEM!!! They are Gov workers, they work for you. Remember that and tell them if they BS you.

In general if you're able to afford a private attorney, you won't financially qualify for a public defender.

Public defenders get a bad rap - they tend to be pretty good and have a lot of trial experience - but I would not expect a public defender to be able to dedicate a ton of time to a DUI. If you think you have real defenses and don't intend to plead guilty it may be worth hiring a private attorney.

Obviously, you should drive yourself down to the jail and punch a deputy in the face.

It needs to be said what a bad thing it was for you to drive intoxicated where you could have killed an innocent person. Apart from the defense, learn a lesson.

If you have a drinking problem, get help.

If not, you have a problem where you did this.

How about just pleading guilty if you are and getting a punishment?

Well whatever you do, just remember that judges love Spanish and middle fingers. I recommend exercising both after judgement has been reached. ;)
