I have

MSI K7T266 Pro
AMD T-Bird 1ghz
Can sell for $140 probably

Should I upgrade to

AMD XP 1600
EPoX EP-8KHA+

Can Buy used for $180+ probably..

Or should I wait another 3 months and see what new CPU's and MOBOs are released.

Depends on what you do with the computer, your hobbies, and financial situation.

I play games most of the time.

I am getting a GF3.

i have 256 DDR.

And i have just enough to buy the XP and Epox..

I might scratch the itch since it's only $40 we're talking about. If you do then you'll HAVE to be satisfied while if you don't you'll always be wondering. Heck a 1600 along with your new GF3 should happily get you by until something like a 3.5 Ghz & GF6 comes out in the next couple years...

I say dont upgrade...

Your new GF3 w/ your T-Bird 1ghz should be enough for all your games anyways...

I would only upgrade CPU when I would double the processor speed. I think I would wait for the 333 boards to iron themselves out.

Yeah, wait........ save that hard earned money for what new CPU's are coming out, your 1 GHz is good enough to handle a lot of things right now, if you wait and then decide price will have come down even more and you can get a faster XP then....

Yes, wait, your fast 1g PC is still plenty fast enough. Going up 600 mhz would not imporove your gaming all that much. If you save your money alittle further down the road you will get alot more peformance gain.

But, on the other had, getting a deal like mobo and 1.6g CPU used for $180 is a good deal, and I would probably upgrade because of the low price. Plus you can sell what your CPU an mobo and recoup some money back. The deal is too good to pass up for me.
