Mine is more necessity. I think my 8800GTS is having issues running things (as well as the monitor I just got ). It all of a sudden just wont run Arkham Asyl and ME2 over 10fps. I dont understand why. I have completed Arkham and it ran great now it just chugs at 1680x1050.

have you checked your gpu clockspeed? sometimes if there is a video driver issue the gpu clocks will stay at 2d speeds when it recovers. of course all you need to do is restart the pc to fix that.

Yeah there is no reason an 8800GTS 512 should chug on either Arkham (unless maybe the physx?) or ME2 (My 4850 512M doesn't drop below 45FPS @ 19x10 all settings maxed).

You might want to pin down this weird performance issue BEFORE you come back on the boards and tell everyone how much your 5870 sucks cause it gets 10FPS in those games.
