I been researching watercooling myself lately, the great thing about watercooling is that you can take it with you when you upgrade so it last a long time. So your first investment could be $100-300, but it pretty much pays for itself.

1. Silent
2. better cooling
3. Less case "clutter" (if you care)
4. Looks nicer (if you care)

Not many cons with watercooling besides price, leaking is pretty much a non-issue anymore, but still wise to test it before you put in case :p

But if you want to keep the heatsink/fan you have AS5 does nicely. Just be SURE to read instructions on the website. I made mistake of not reading it before i put it on, after i put it on right when i noticed temps were "screwy" it lowered temps 6c

One of the upsides of water that no one has mentioned yet is that most water cooling blocks are universal. At the next time there's a socket change and you decide to upgrade to a new rig, the most you might need to do is buy a new hold down bracket. Other than that, there's a strong likelihood you can just move your whole water cooling system over to your new parts.

OK, I'll just chalk that one up to doing too many things at the same time. Somehow I totally missed it. It would seem I'm taking after your user name.

I run the Infinity on my Opty 165. Pretty happy with it.

Compared to stock, well, that's not really a comparison. Glad you found something that would work!!

For video card, I'd recommend the 7900GT and a Zalman VF900-Cu. I haven't done it yet, but there will be some sick overclocking going on when I do my volt mod. The Zalman dropped my temps by 20C on my vid card.

I am running a 7600 card right now, and have the same cooler on it, and it works great. As far as how MUCH cooler it is than stock, I don't know 'cause I haven't figured out how to read the temps on it. My ASUS Probe only gets MB, Case and CPU temps for me.

If you want to watercool and overclock I would recommend looking into TEC's.. although be sure to do your homework.

TECs are expensive and much more complicated than basic watercooling...need good psu
(I would go phas before TEC)
watercooling can be addictive and is much more expensive than air cooling and on price/perf. I do not think it is justified

I wanted a challenge to see if I could do without killing hardware and I did ..to my wife's surprise

As for universal..not laways ask those wanting mounting hardware for many blocks with AM2

I now have my pc overclocked to 10 percent, making my CPU 3.97GHz from 3.6 and my FSB from 800 to 881.something. NO CHANGE at all under minimal load, and it only maxs out at 50C under full load (compared to 70 something with the Zalman). Thats using http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835185027. So I'm pretty happy for now. I got me an XFX7950GT card instead of a watercooling kit. However, that is "FOR NOW"!!! I am constantly messing around, and my curiousity will eventually lead me down the watercooling road, if for nothing other than the fact that I CAN!
