Actually, you wouldn't believe the number of AOL users that are out there. Quite frequently, someone gives me their E-mail address and it's an AOL address. Each time, I cringe inside when I hear the letters: A-O-L. :D

NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! DO NOT INSTALL IT!

I got one of those free 6 months from dell cds. I installed it and f#&(*#@ aol 8 trashed my windows xp installation. I just did a reinstall 2 months ago. :( Now I'm wasting tons of time having to reinstall windows and all the crap that goes with it. :(
AOL 8 SUCKS!!!!

Upgrade to something cheaper and better. If you have a second line, drop the second line and AOL and get broadband for the same price. I can't believe people don't get that yet.

I still use aol 3.0 Since most of the features of AOHell still work, such as kicking people from chat rooms and shutting down remote systems.

I'm saying that broadband is a very good alternative to AOL. My actual suggestion is to get something cheaper and better or some combination.

To quote an unknown poster, "friends don't let friends use AOL".
To quote another unknown poster: "I'm a big boy now, so they can keep their AOL".

Did you miss the NetZero commercial of $9.95 monthly unlimited internet service?

No, that's not exactly true. My in-laws still call me for tech support, even though they know the only time I've used AOL is when I was at their house.
