Four. One of them is sitting next to me. Two of which I grew up with. Another of which I graduated with.

Three of which are very good friends. One of which is close enough that I consider him a brother. One is in rehab for being up for 35 days straight on meth. When he took a dive, he was driving on HWY26. Good thing he was alone and only totalled the car.

Yes, and because I was raised by fundies, that means that I have no free thought and can't make decisions about what I believe on my own. That also means that I have no reasons or foundation for what I think, right?

Who picked up the rock to let you crawl out, Red?

They all will openly tell you that they started with marajuana. They're not morons. One of them (the brother) went into the Navy. He's here for two weeks, then he ships to Washington DC for some sort of black ops.

And if they'd lay off the mind altering drugs (pot, meth, crack), our society would be a better place.

Did you say your best friend is gay? Man, your friends must hate you, or do you not spout off your intolerant views around them. Are we the only ones to whom you bestow your holier-than-thou "opinions" on a daily basis?

No, my best friend isn't gay. I'm going to marry my best friend. I think I'd know if she were gay. If my friends make decisions that I don't agree with, I'll usually keep my mouth closed until they ask. Then I tell them how I feel and drop it until they're willing to talk about it. If they start a conversation, I'll remind them how I feel and have a logical conversation about it. My friends don't start pulling things that have no place into arguments and insulting me and insulting other things about me that make me who I am like the little tweaking wankers here on AT. They respect my opinion like I respect theirs. If they want to talk about it, I'll talk about it with them. But my friends also aren't trippin on da whacky tobacky.

Maybe if everyone got high sometimes our society would be a better place. Who knows? Let's try it and find out; your way's not working. :)

very true, i really do think that's exactly how the average person gets sucked into hard drugs, and meth is so easy to make that it is almost as common as pot these days. unfortunately unlike marijuana, meth and the much more common crank are almost never made correctly, making them much more dangerous than the pure drug itself. they get all sorts of nasty 'cuts' thrown in to make more to sell, sort of like watering down a beer. if you catch your kids doing crank, find a local rehab place and let them sit down and chat with one of these freaks who have been doing meth regularly for the last 20 years, they are pretty much mentally dead, and its very uncomfortable to try and speak with them.

but you guys need to quit ripping on pot smokers and even the casual dealers. if you want to rip on the massive mexican organizations that kill people, fine, but some guy hooking up a couple of other friends is pretty trivial.

they could not have done a damn thing about his room mate having that, unless they could PROVE BEYOND DOUBT that he himself took part in the possession or distribution

for all of you saying "anyone who uses X is a moron", youre wrong. nobody starts out on those bad drugs, its a steady progression that even the individual isn't totally aware of. ive seen the best and brightest start out on pot, and just move down the line. with those harder drugs, its not idiocy which makes you do it- its curiosity. unfortunatly, for the people who are just curious enough to try it, and the drug clicks with them, they get hooked.

i'm not a moron, i have an exceptional iq, high act scores, social skills and plenty of self esteem. when i got addicted to oxycontin, it wasn't just some random thing. my good friend whom i trusted gave it to me and told me it was a painkiller. it clicked with me, and everything seemed right when i was on it. everything seemed "clear", like i could trust myself to make decisions that would be in my best interest.

for some people that drug is pot, for some people oxy/painkillers, for some it might be meth. some are more dangerous than others, but all it takes is enough curiousity to try it. once it takes over the real you isnt at the wheel anymore.

i'm thankful im done with that ****, the disadvantages greatly outweigh the advantages, (even if it doesnt seem that way at the time). just don't judge drug abusers without knowing them. most of the time its not their fault. i just hope that everyone knows that its better to turn in addicts to their parents, or MAKE them quit, then have their dangerous use eventually kill everything they used to be.

no, you are not in control when you are using very harsh drugs. you might have the illusion of control, but its not you in control, its the drug. you will make the same bad decisions every single time, no matter how detrimental it is to you and people around you.

You're in control until you get there. You're in control making the decision to start in the first place.
