If anyone here has it, I am wondering what your expierences with it are. I am not sure whether to get this or wait 'till longhorn comes out. Does it crash alot, if so I guess i'll just wait.

If you want to try it out, definitely do it, but be sure to do it on a dual-boot, so if you find it too buggy, you can always go back to plain old XP Pro.

Really? I'm not having a problem with BF2 under XP64 at all. In fact, I can't really think of any problems I'm having with it.

I did not have any trouble in any game other than BF2. Everquest2, CS:Source all ran great in xp64bit.... only BF2 retail gave me trouble. The demo ran fine. Reinstalled it 3 times and still no go. Used the latest dets and nforce drivers for my nforce3 and 6800GT also. Went back to xp 32bit and it runs great now. Other than that, did not have any problems in XP64bit, save.... TV tuner drivers..

I can use my TV tuner again because drivers exist:roll: Is it really hard for a TV Tuner chip maker to make XP 64bit drivers?

Which drivers for your 6800GT did you try? BF2 requires 77.30 or later as I understand it. I'm an ATI user, so since I'm not encountering an issue, I'm thinking it's video driver related.

Far Cry also has a 64-bit patch that enhances the graphics textures and adds some new levels.

I'm givin' it a go! I was just gonna use linux until I got the cash together, but I thought I'd might as well give this a shot in the mean time. I might even end up liking it and buying it.

Unfortunately, XP64 lacks drivers for my printer, film scanner, camera (for direct download over IEEE1394) and probably a few other things that I won't think of until I install it and find out the painful way. As much as I'd like to try XP64, I'm sticking with XP32 for the foreseeable future.
