Should I try 87 octane fuel?

you better get some 95-ocatne for that monster timleless classic purebred detroit muscle high performance luxury cruiser or else who knows next week you can be driving a crappy import like an infiniti G35c.
 
all gas is the same. it all comes in one big tanker to the terminals. where they then add the additives. using mid grade is mostly negligible. unless your car specifically calls for a higher octane it wouldnt matter using regular unleaded. Fine tuned vehicles such as super sport cars and sport bikes will want to use 93+. they have 94 in the northern regions.

mixing octanes doesnt matter. you may even find it cheaper to buy the cheapest octane boosters at your local auto shop and get the same results.

If you flush ur vehicle every oil change and keep it up (maintain the b!tch), most cars only need 87 octane.

hehe i worked for the main terminal in norfolk, va. distributed petro un and down the east coast. mainly exxons/mobil. you learn a lot BSin with the engineers.

Yeah, like I said, my father always had the misconception that higher was better, when I got the car from him I didn't know any better and put in premium. Once I learned the truth and prices went up I dropped it, but I still didn't go to regular because I was SURE it would ping. But since you say a week of pinging wouldn't be a big deal IF it even happened at all, I'll give 87 a shot.
