If it is me, I will take the job and keep looking. Retailing is not anything to be proud of....but 34k is good amount of money, simply can't ignore it.

I'm surprised you got offered $34K without any management experience.
Also keep in mind this is Florida(no state income tax) so its about $38K-$40 elsewhere.
Take the job if anything just for the experience.

I know managers in grocery vs restaurant tend to make more money but I've heard about the long hrs, especially if you're on salary. Make sure you know this ahead of time before taking the job.

*********Update**********

I recently accepted the job and they say I'll begin training January 10th (about a month after graduation).

The head manager of the store (not an a$$hole) works about 8-9 hours a day and the two co-managers work similar shifts so it doesn't look like I'll be working super-crazy hours. I haven't signed anything yet but my mom suggests I get everything in writing before I agree to anything else (solid advice).

New Question though: When everyone says "Accept the job and keep looking" whats the proper etiquite for telling them "I know I accepted the job but I found a better one so goodbye" if I discover a better opportunity in my job hunt? Personally I think it's really rude doing such but when even my mother is pushing same advice, I guess I should consider it.

there isn't any etiquette because you're screwing them. tell them just what you wrote there. don't tell them where the other job is in case someone knows someone and causes trouble for you at the new place. I did this twice myself . the last time was pretty bad, the company I was "quitting" was closed for 2 weeks and I had no way to reach anyone, so I called them on the day I was supposed to start to tell them I wasn't gonna work there.

umm tell them another company wants to hire you. it's not like you sign a 20-year contract with the supermarket. trust me, it is as easy for you to jump into a new job as them firing you. it's called BUSINESS.

a 2-week notice in advance before you quit is enough.

so don't worry and keep looking. however it's not too good to be jumping in and out of jobs every 2 months.
