Should I take Spanish senior year?

I'm in my 4th year of Spanish in high school right now as a junior. (I took Spanish 1 in middle school)

Spanish 4 is pretty tough, in terms of just sitting down and memorizing for tons of time.

After high school, will it be worth it to take it as a senior? I know if I take it next year I'll definetly want to do a minor in it so that I can keep speaking it later in life. The only thing in the future I see with using the language is because of all the spanish speaking immigrants and in business it may be a useful tool to have

no. no te combiene si tienes que preguntar😀

Dependiendo en que carrrera estas metido, la habilidad te puede abrir muchas bunes opportuninades $$

translation: Depending on your profession/career, you eses have the potential to bank like no one has ever banked before.

BTW, I took up to french 4 in HS, and it turned out to be useless other than giving me a deep understanding of Albert Camus's "the stranger" and Antoine de Saint Exupéry's "the little Prince" as i read them in two languages.😕

:at least I have english and spanish to fall back on

lol...it already is. Unless 20 million mexicans, central, and south americans, not to mention the Spanish, all somehow get deported in the near future, Spanish will remain very important.

*crosses his finger*

depends on the undergrad you are going to. at our school, who just took the bare minimum of language in HS had to take a couple years of it in college. i took 4 years in hs so i didn't have to take any in college. btw, from what i hear language classes in college are more of a pain in the ass than they are in HS

only reason I'd be taking them is so I don't forget the language right out of high school while it's still new to me, if I continue using it during college maybe I can use it my entire life

Depending on what you want to do, yes spanish will help you get hired and get paid more. If you are going to do something in Political Science, Criminal Justice, Law (pre law), Business, or any other liberal arts education, yes it will help you. If you are going into the science or math field it would not hurt, but it will not help that much.

I want to do something in terms of engineering/computer science/etc. as a major but then an MBA after that

same here.....

Well then the spanish is not going to help you that much. If I were you I would check into the programs that the university/college you plan on going to, to see if they require you to take any language credits to graduate. I have a friend of mine that is in a history/poli sci major and he has to take 4 semesters of spanish. If your major will require it, take as much as you can in HS (it will make life easier).

I finished high school with spanish 3 as a sophomore. 7 years later I remember bits and pieces (was a little helpful when I went down to Mexico for my honeymoon)

if you intend to do something with it, yes.

it's probably not going to help you much in your professional career, but it'd be nice to have the experience for college. that way, you can just coast through the required 4 semesters of a foreign language.

if you dont take it, youll forget it all. i took ap spanish my sophomore year (took 3 years in middle school) and now im a senior and can barely speak it. i really knew it when i was in the class, too- i got a 4 on the exam.
