Hello everyone, i need your suggestions for what i should do with my card. First off who in here is familiar with ThugsRook GTU bios??? If you are you may be able to help me greatly. Here http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7215 for you guys non-familiar with it. Gt+Ultra bios combining features make it the best most powerful bios today.
I have a evga 6800 ultra/LE vid card. It is a special edition card that only evga made. Its clock speeds are 325/1100 and has 16pipes with 6 vetex shaders stock. See for yourself http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/N347.pdf however the only thing listed wrong on there is that there is 16pipelines stock not 12, and goes the same for all owners for this card. It basically a downclocked ultra with sam pcb board and everything. All features are unlocked. Recently ive been looking at EVGA's step up program for my card. I have heard in many forums that since evga no longer makes these cards that they will upgrade you to a 6800gt agp with a copper heatsink and $25 evga credit (pretty good deal). However im not looking for the best deal i am looking for the best performance.
My card currently running at its normal bios overclocked to 360/1182, not the thugs GTU bios yet(i dont want to void the warranty yet). I get about 4800 in 3dmark05 now. However this is not even stock its overclocked and i still get a relatively low score....I know stock 6800gt's get at least 5000+ stock not overclocked a bit. But I also know that with thugs GTU bios people with my card have acheived around 5500+ actually some bneched in the 6000's. But wouldnt the 6800gt overclocked be around here also??? that is my first question. My second is which card i should go with here?
My card now is crappy stock but is capable of remarkable scores if bios is flashed right, because it is an ultra in every way except downclocked by bios so technically if i flashed it to GTU bios it would be(please correct me if im wrong but i think the bios is the only thing limiting my card). PLease please please help me!!! im so confused about what to do i cant even concentrate until i get this sorted out. Thx for everyone who will be patient enough to read this all.😕

I have the same card. Bios flashed with the Thugs 1.4v 400/1100 Ultra, I did when I first bought mine and that was nearly a year ago. I get about 5300 in 3DMark05. This is with a Barton Mobile @2.4gig and 1gig of PC3200 2.0-3-3-6 @200MHz.

Evga will not give you the same card if you warranty it.

Actually I should re-bench it with the newest drivers, as I found a slight glitch in my system recently which brought my 3DMark01K scores way up 🙂

Could you tell me your new 3dmark05 score if you re-bench?thx Also i have a p4 2.66ghz processore oc'ed at 3.2ghz is my processor better than yours yes right?

Ok i took your advice and i stayed with my card and i just fliashed my bios. It worked and everything i downloaded the 77.77 drivers. I also downloaded rivatuner just for some over clocking. I tried 400/1100 couldnt do it massive artifacts so i was like hmmmm well all cards dont overclock the same so....I tried just raising it a few mhz, same artifacting had to reboot. So i tried just 1 mhz and it still artifacted my whole screen and had to reboot again because i coulndt control anything!!! Then i said forget this ill benchmark it. I booted up free 3dmark05 as soon as i start the test BOOM! artifacting screen this time automatic restart. I cant see what is wrong rivatuner sees it now as a 6800gt....and all information is 100%correct. I cant figure out what i did wrong, i followed all steps perfect, yet something is wrong. Should i try flashing it again? Is that even safe to re-flash the card to the exact same bios again??? Im probably not even gonna try a game cuz i kno what will happen:[ Can anyone help??? Also temps are normal and everything looks normal.
