should i setup a server?

i currently have a copy of Windows Server 2003 Enterprise edition.

should i set it up as a server at home to toy with it alittle? if i do it'll be on the bare minimum requirements system.. 133MHz....20Gig HD etc. should i bother setting it up or just say forget it cause of the crap system i have laying around.
 
do it. Hey, I'm just curious, if you have a static IP, can you make your old computer a server and does it need to have special software to run it?

dunno, that's what i'm asking. should i bother since it's going to be on the minimum requirements and will be a pain to use cause it's so slow?

I run WIndows 2000 server on a Pentium 166 with a 2 gig and 2.5 gig hard drive and 160 meg of RAM. Once it gets booted, it's not all that slow.
 
Do I need windows 2000 server or something to make it into a server or winXP will be good enough? I don't know, im a noob with this shiznit.

and guys, i think you are missing out on something, windows server 2003 is not the same as windows 2000 server.

no...it'll be slow.
i have it running on a 1gig celeron dell server with only 128megs ram and i
can see it chugging...

on install its fine coz nothing is enabled by default in win2003 but then whats the point?
after i enable some of these services...system is noticeably slower.

needs more ram 🙂

in your case, lemme put it this way...133mhz is slow for win98.

I would not do it if the machine meets bare minimum req. It will be so slow that it will be nearly impossible to config and run apps. It will be much more hassle than it is worth, unless you have lots of time to waste
