Should I sell my X800 XT PE on ebay?

I've decided I should have went with NVIDIA this round.

I can send my card back to Anthony at CompUSA (ordered direct over the phone) but he's going to hit me with a restock fee. Or I could put it up on ebay and see what I can get since they're in such short supply right now.

I really don't want to go the ebay route because I don't want to deal with all the idiots I could run into. The last thing I need is some guy wanting to send the card back because he can't get it to work in HIS system.

Anyway, what do you guys think I should do? Take the hit at CompUSA or ebay it?

Thanks,

Sell it on eBay. These cards are in short supply, help someone else out. Also, what do you not like about the card?

Try trading it with a 6800U user. Ive seen a few swap IHV's after getting a new card.

Bar81 and I are trading. I just sent him my X800 Pro, hes going to send me his 6800 GT. He wanted the Pro because of his widescreen LCD and BFG not supporting it. I wanted the GT because of Danger Dens new waterblock for it.

I think I'm going to wait until PCIe cards are out and then get a 6800 Ultra. I really like the SLI idea. Back in the day I had a Voodoo 2 SLI setup and really loved it.

NVIDIA's cards won't support widescreen? That's strange.

BTW, I just can't stand the thought of paying that 15% restock fee to CompUSA so here's my auction on ebay:

If you want to see my auction, my seller name is whatabummer.

You should have started the auction at 1 cent and save a few $$$, it will get to $400 anyway.

Yeah but then you get people that think they're going to get the card for $10 bidding on it. I'd like to avoid those people if I can.

Definately get more than he paid... people are so nuts they'll overpay for it to have it NOW.

I feel like an idiot guys. I started to have second thoughts about selling it. I really don't know what I want to do right now. I need more time to think about it.

I guess I want a PCIe system with a 6800 Ultra but then I don't have any idea when it will be available and I hate waiting. With everything changing right now. DDR2, PCIe, BTX, and slots I just don't know.

Anyway, I'm going to give it more thought and try and make up my mind in the next three days. If I decide to get rid of it I can just relist it.

Don't flame me too bad. :frown:

Well hell if you keep waiting for new stuff you'll never upgrade. I think the card you have is a great one. I don't think the PCI-e cards for now on the current boards have any big increases then AGP-8x. I'd say stick with what you got.

Thanks,

That's why there are feedback ratings in ebay

True, PCI express will not help in gaming performance, and DDR2 is actually slower because
of higher latency. BTX is not much better than current designs, it's not really needed currently,
and it's just too drastic of a change, so IMO it will not be adopted anytime soon.

The only configuration that will imrove gaming performance is two video cards in SLI config
on a dual pci-express mobo, but you'll have to wait a long time for this to become a reality,
and even then it may cost a fortune.

It will be awhile before PCI express offers a tangible advantage, except for in SLI, which is prohibitivley expensive for most people
