Should I sell my Newcastle 3500+ for a Venice?

mb

Lifer
The best I can OC to is 2310mhz, and even that is pushing it temperature wise. Would I be better off with a 3000+ Venice and OC'ing that? Or should I at least get a 3500+ Venice?

oh god yes

sell your 3500+ to some jerk on eBay

snap up the Venice 3000+ for $120, make sure it's the newer (E6?) revision

you will probably make money and get an extra 300-900 mhz
plus it will run cooler

I waiting to unload my winchester onto a build for a friend🙂

Hehe, he recommended the E6 revision, which so far seems to OC even worse than the older ones

no no no

don't waste your hard earned money on crappy AMD chips !!!

lmao!
go with a venice if you actually care. although 2.3 GHz is not exactly slow.. i am sure that will run anything just fine.

I have a 3500 Venice on the way 🙂

If it can do over 2200mhz at a lower temp than my 3500+ I'll be happy.

er...seems like they are no more or less hit-and-miss than the E3s

I have seen some ungodly OCs from 'good' E6s.
