Should I pop this blood blister?

Dropped a vice lever on my finger today and pinched it real good. Are you supposed to pop blood blisters right away, or let them do their thing for a while?

i am no expert in this, but that happened to me twice and I popped them both immediately for the fear of the blood will permamently be clogged at that spot.

The best ones are the ones under your fingernails. The ones that require you to twist a drill bit into your fingernail until it pops.

I've never popped a blood blister and I'm still alive =)

*EDIT* It may be tender and sore for a while, but I prefer that to creating the possibility for infection.

As much as we'd all LOVE to smash it over and over, Jeff is correct. There's really no better protection than the skin intact over the wound.

i had a blood blister on the bottom of my foot. i left it alone for a few days and then just cut the skin. the blood was dried up by then.

Oh... by the way... if it breaks on it's own... NuSkin is SOOOO much better than bandages. I started using it when I started bowling in a league and now I use it on any cut or scrape in a spot that needs protection.
