Should I play Morrowind or Neverwinter Nights?

I have played both and prefer Neverwinter Nights by far.. No real reason, just seemed like a better game to me.

for pure role playing, morrowind is probably better though it palls pretty soon. i got pissed because I was spending half the walking from here to there. it is pretty long though

NWN is shorter and is a pretty good mix of role playing & hack-n-slash. it had got good replay value too due to the numerous mods being release. I love NWN.

NWN.

Morrowind is intriguing at first but theres way too much walking around, and the combat system leaves much to be desired.

Thanks guys. I'm going to go pick up NWN on my lunch break. I played a little Morrowind and it is too slow paced for me.

I have both and I like NWN much better.

I just wish it was longer.

Take you time and try to finish all the side quests.
Most of them are in the first two chapters.

peace
🙂

good GOD the combat system SUX. you're too nice 😉

Having finished both I did enjoy NWN more, however I`m waiting for my copy of Icewind Dale 2 ,I hear it`s real hard and you need to use real combat tactics etc, just my sort of game,I want a real fight unlike Morrowind which was lacking in the fighting department.

🙂

I would recommend both. Morrowind has many directions to go with which gives it a plus for replay. NWN is also a great game but I found it boring when I replayed as a different character (mostly because I knew what to expect as far as the story line went)

Good question DARRIN, I was wondering the same thing! I just finished Dungeon Siege and was wanting another good game like that.

Sure, but why don't you be more helpful and make a title suggestion? Maybe you can think of something great that DARRIN overlooked.

After playing both of them for half an hour or so, NWN wins hands down. I'm addicted already. This is the best RPG Ive played. I really like being able to rotate the camera. Maggotry
go buy NWN!

The graphics were pretty sweet in Morrowind but every damn person you talk to wants to give you a quest. Too much crap to keep up with. LOL. And after 10 minutes of walking around and taling to people I still did not know what the hell I was supposed to be doing. NWN on the other hand had a little training session then immediate action. Slicing and dicing. NWN gets my vote!

Icewind Dale 2 is also sweet. I <3 the BioWare Infinity Engine.

If you haven't played Baldurs Gate 2 or the first Icewind Dale, you can pick them up cheap. For my money, BG2 is the best RPG Ive ever played.

I played the first Balders Gate, BG2 Shadow of Amn, and Pool of Radiance. All were really good. I like the real time feeling of NWN and the way you can rotate the camara.

I'm looking for the same thing Maggotry is looking for. I really liked Dungeon Siege and was wondering if NWN was pretty close to it. It seems like there's a little more to combat in NWN as compared to DS, but I think I'd like that. I guess NWN is the best way to go for us Dungeon Siege lovers? 🙂

I would say it is similar to DS and Diablo 2. I like you do not have a hole party to upkeep, you just have to worry about your main character. DS to me was pure hack and slash.

I like not having to control 4-6 characters also.

That was actually one of the few things I didn't like about NWN. I like the party based games like Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment. I might have to pick up Icewind Dale II.
