Talking to her would be fruitless, she's the "whatever..whatever..I'll do what I want" type.

Sounds a bit like scorned love, dude....

sucks to be you, but getting her in trouble at work isn't going to help you any.

Correct, but getting her into trouble may just help save her passengers.

Alkemyst is trolling.

Definitely say something. If you're riding with her then your life is at stake, so there's at least one reason. But think of the passengers in that van and other motorists - could you live with your own conscience if you saw the headlines of "8 killed in vehicle pile-up; van driver was texting at the time"

Kind of unfair for you to assume her reaction and avoid talking to her directly first.

Doesn't really have anything to do with what I'm saying, which was in response to this:

Talking to her would be fruitless, she's the "whatever..whatever..I'll do what I want" type.

Should you tell someone? Yes, especially since she's the type of person that does whatever she wants without concern for others.

Yes. Considering that the company will probably be sued if she hits someone, the boss should take an interest.

I come from the old school when it comes to snitching, but that's just plain unsafe - and she's carrying other passengers to boot.

It'd be one thing if she was doing this by herself. Whether she was in a company car or on her own, I wouldn't mention it if it was just her. But because she's ferrying others around I think it would be wrong not to tell someone.

All you can hope for when someone does this on their own personal time is that they wrap their car around a telephone pole and don't hurt anyone but themselves. But when they're responsible for other people it's very different.

Just PM me her name and the number/extention for your boss, I'll report her for you. ;)
Wouldn't be too uncommon for a random witness of her texting to report her to the company she works for.

I am willing this is a one time deal...

Seriously how does the OP get to witness her, is he following her all day....

think about it people instead of just lashing out at a chick that you feel would probably turn you down for a date.

Tattling on coworker for petty crap like being 5 minutes late = bad
Tattling on coworker for behavior that puts clients and bystanders at risk of fatal injury = good.

Honestly, this is a good idea. The boss will be notified of the problem and your nose stays clean. Have a friend call in a complaint about her driving erratically while texting. Make sure they know her route so they can give an accurate time/place of incident.

Your concerns are the clients. Not the chumminess you have with your coworkers. If I had a family member in a group home, I'd expect you to bring this up with your employer.

I would stab you in the throat if you got my father killed because you were afraid to do the right thing.

Seriously, why did you even need to make this thread? You're in a van with a reckless driver who is responsible for peoples' lives.

Who had that song with the verse, "Taking a load of retards to the zoo"? It wasn't the Dead Milkmen, was it? I'll Google for me.

Dead Milkmen

It's a boring day - I've got nothing to do
Except to get a load of retards and drive 'em to the zoo

Oh oh oh takin' retards to the zoo
Oh oh oh takin' retards to the zoo

Load 'em on a bus just for laughs
Down a winding road stepping on the gas
Down a winding road just daydreaming
Down a winding road with the retards screaming

Oh oh oh takin' retards to the zoo
Oh oh oh takin' retards to the zoo

One of them blowing a big spit bubble
Slam on the brakes at the first sign of trouble
Head on collision bodies everywhere
Head on collision retards beware

Oh oh oh takin' retards to the zoo
Oh oh oh takin' retards to the zoo

I had thought of this, doesn't seem like it'd be productive. Plus if it didn't work, then I told the bosses, and they say something to all of us, she'd know it was me. I was thinking of saying to my boss 'Some consumers seem to be agitated that staff is texting while driving, " without saying who it is.
