Should I learn CATIA or NX 5?

If I have to learn one, which one should I learn?

I am more a fan of nx than catia, but if you learn one you should be able to figure out the other. nx is more geared toward manufacturing and CAM.
most cad/cam programs use similar methods.

I've never used NX, but I know that CATIA is used in all sorts of industries and it certainly couldn't hurt to know your way around it.

I would say it depends on what industry you want to go into. A lot of aviation, for example, use Catia (Boeing, Cessna, Beechcraft, etc).

My company uses NX4, which I and all my coworkers hate (a lot of the hatred is because of how the company has it setup on the networks, it takes 15 minutes just to open). But as others have said, once you know one package it should be pretty easy to learn a new one.

Catia is more standard and better for jobs.
