should I just buy the XFX 6800GT pci-e and be done with it?

I would like to have an evga or bfg, but I am very tempted to get the xfx because they appear to be available. I know their service sucks, but the card itself is really not that different right?

As far as I know BFG doesn't have a PCI-E 6800GT out there yet, but EVGA does.

I haven't looked around online resellers for them, but a couple of my distributers have the EVGA available.

Available???? Where??? These things are impossible to find and I think that is pathetic. One site has an ETA of MARCH!!!!! WTF???

BFG does make a Pci-e 6800 gt, I'm running two right now. I purchased them from Chumbo at list, $399 each. Unfortunately, Chumbo sold out mighty quick, and I was back ordered. Luckily, my order was fulfilled out of the next delivery so I got them last Friday. If you really want evga or bfg, it seems like the eta is stretching. Perhaps nordicnine will fill you in on which "distributors" have the evga.

When you go to XFX's website it lets you order the 6800gt pci-e, from their website.

Well, I guess I am the guinea pig. I just ordered it and it claimes it will ship and be here in 2 days. I don't need good tech support I have you guys, right. just kidding, sort of.

Cancelled my order with xfx this morning after they sent me an e-mail that said the card I ordered was not actually in stock for 1-2 weeks. Oh well I guess it's back to looking.

I've never heard of Chumbo before, but they seem to be the only ones who list a $400 6800gt. Are they a good reseller?

Chumbo = BFG er something like that. They are one of BFG main/biggest distributors/retailers/whatever the heck you want to call it.

I ordered my 6800 GT PCIe from Chumbo before Christmas. It was $399 with overnight shipping. The way I found Chumbo was by following the "Buy Now" link from BFG's site. So from my extremely limited experience, there a good reseller.

Chumbo does not = BFG, but they are BFG's official reseller, so they tend to have products in stock before anyone else. They don't have many good sales but you can count on them to list at MSRP and not gouge over that.

I liked the free overnight shipping. I mean, they could have charged $25 for ground shipping and they still would have sold out their stock in no time. So hats off to Chumbo and BFG for not gouging.
