Should I jump to GRAW 2, or start with 1?

So I have some points at goozex saved up and was thinking of getting a couple older games that I missed. I heard good things about GRAW 1/2 and was planning on jumping right into 2, but didn't know if there was a reason not to. I'm mainly looking for a good single player game here.

1 was boring enough that i didnt even want to finish it, and so i never bothered with 2.

I would not recommend it for consoles. Horrible! If you are still intent on getting it, get R6 Vegas 2, at least the multiplayer on R6V2 will give you something to do after you beat the SP. The MP is pretty fun.

They aren't even close to being the same game. R6 series is actually fun, while GRAW 1/2 aren't.

Wow, lotta dislike for GRAW. I actually have fun with it, and still play online with friends now and then.

You'll be fine skipping 1. Both are fun games...I really enjoyed them. Rainbow 6 is a great game as well...I'd recommend all 3. Rainbow 6 has some of the best controls ever devised...keep meaning to pick up the second iteration of Rainbow 6.

Get Vegas 2 Pete, it's like 1 but everything is just better. Include the fact that your character gets experience in all game modes and it's a winner.

I really liked it, but its not a straight up shooter - the shooting is secondary to the troop positioning and commanding. Its really an acquired taste - the first time I played it I really disliked it. After I understood how it worked, I really started enjoying it.

I personally thought GRAW 1 was better - the missions had more personality, GRAW 2 just seemed like a B-list.

But vegas is overall a better experience, although more traditional.

I bought GRAW because I liked R6:V so much, but I didn't like GRAW. :(

I had a similar experience. I played the first mission, didn't really like it, and shelved it for several months. When I picked it up again, I suddenly "got it" and enjoyed it more.

I haven't played enough to comment on the missions, but GRAW 2 allows two primary weapons like R6V and most other shooters. Trying to neutralize multiple Tangoes behind cover with an unscoped light machine gun was a big pain in GRAW.

I remember liking the original Ghost Recon, so I got in on the Steam sale on the Ghost Recon collection a few months back. Finally started playing GRAW1 yesterday and it's really slow going so far. As in: constant cycles of getting killed instantly by enemies I can't see and having to reload the previous checkpoint. It's kind of exacerbated by the AI squad members running around in the open, not following orders, blocking my view, getting themselves shot, not shooting at enemies standing right next to them, etc.

I'm not ready to give up on it, but the game is kind of trying my patience...
