Should I join Phi Sigma Theta?

-bout to start law degree

I ended up joining because I was presenting some paper I wrote at a conference. Hadn't put any thought into it prior to that.

Phi Alpha Theta, as a discipline-specific society, has a function beyond resume fluffing.

OP, is there a professional society you can join that's tied to your academic interests? In the sciences, students in a field can generally join relevant profressional societies as student members for dirt cheap.
 
Guess my point is, that unless the fees are exorbitant, there really isn't a downside to joining. When job hunting it's a nice little line on a piece of paper that may favor you over another candidate.
