Looks like most of the stuff offerred, I either have or don't want.

MSN messenger - The only IM client I use and installed on my laptop.
Toolbar - No thanks.
Photo gallery - came with vista home premium...why do I need this again?
Movie Maker - came with vista home premium...why do I need this again?

Btw, IE8 still hasn't shown up on my windows update. Mmm.

Windows Live Photo Gallery is an enhanced version of the version Vista shipped with. Movie Maker is still in (early?) beta, it's being re-written from scatch so it's currently not feature complete.

Typically MS doesn't push out new internet explorer versions thru Windows Update for a month or two after its released. Then it may first appear as an Optional update for awhile, before becoming a recommended update.
IIRC that's how they did it with IE6 & 7.

Wait. These are actually pretty big downloads. If installed, does it completely uninstall and replace the existing apps? If so, I might consider. The last thing I want is to have two photo galleries and movie makers on my laptop.
