oh, and with win2k, i have a linux partition and a win98 partition. will that affect upgrading?

1) Don't upgrade a Windows OS. EvAr. Especially not when shifting kernels from 9X to NT. Start fresh.

the computer is upstairs and the TV is downstairs.. as for win2k, i dont wanna delete any of my personal files (docs, mp3s, divx).. how can i access the linux partition from windows to move the files there? then i just format c: and reinstall?

never came online, so i never got the number. i hate myself for not getting the number when i last saw her. gahh!

and this is one of the first nights in a few weekends where i have stayed IN and NOT gone out..

I kinda like Windows 2000, so I would probably recommend moving your computer downstairs and installing Windows (From scratch. Do it right or be sorry later.) while you're playing XBox! It's not like you'll need an Internet connection while you're doing an OS install! 🙂

Word of warning, though, Windows 2000 will probably hose your Linux bootloader. Make a Linux boot disk first, so you can get back into the OS and reinstall GRUB or LILO.
