Well I've never been to Chicago before. I have some friends going down. I was thinking of joining them. I might go a few days before and stay a few days more at a close friends place.

What is there to do? Say if I was there for 1 week, 23rd to 30th.

I don't want to spend much money either. But any suggestions regardless of price are welcome, but please note the price if it is known or estimated. I would like to do 250 or less.

Details to follow.

Chicago is an amazing city. I recommend Elmwood Park if you plan on living there, excellent burb... Stay on the North side though, the south side wreaks of trash and theft.

Some good burbs are:
Cicero
Oak Park
River Forest
Elmwood Park.
River Grove
Lake Park (further away from Downtown)

If you are in that area be sure to ask around until you find "Gene and Jude's". Everyone on the north side will know what you're talking about. It's fantastic Chicago-Style hot dogs.

Soldier Field is fun to tour on a non-game day, Navy Pier is nice if you like to shop. Columbia University sits right over down town Chicago. There is an IHOP next to Wrigley Field where I passed out drunk one time. There are lots of things to do in Chicago.

EDIT: Holy crap, I almost forgot. There is the billy goat tavern in boystown which is an awesome environment for baseball fans!!!

Cheers!

Wicker Park FTW...

Wicker Park, Bucktown, Lakeview, and Uptown (to a lesser extent) are my favorite neighborhoods.

I hate Lincoln Park.
