Should I go out of my way to see Gravity 3d?

It's oscar weekend so the best picture candidates are out in theaters. Gravity in 3d is only showing on 1 screen a half an hour away. Everyone says I should see it in 3d. Worth doing?

I took the advice of atot and saw it in imax. Really wasn't that awesome. Visually it was cool sure, but it wasn't especially cool or memorable. Imo.

If you're much into (good) movies you probably won't mind the half hour drive, unless ten bucks in gas is a budget breaker.

We're not getting any replays here. Damn! Never saw it in theaters, buddies back then thought it looked boring, and I couldn't convince them with any of my logic.
🙁

If I want to see shots of the earth rotating from low earth orbit on a big screen I'll go to work.

(It was a good movie 😉 )

I hate seeing movies in 3D at the theater or at home. I saw it at the theater in 3D and loved it.

Hells yes.

ok went and saw it. i thought it was visually very striking, which honestly took away from my enjoyment of the story. the graphics were almost too distracting. maybe if i saw it again, i could let myself be immersed in it, rather than looking AT it.

i also thought the howling part was really stupid.

I would think that the visuals of that movie would be awesome in 3D. I found it difficult to swallow a lot of the plot twists, which rely on people thinking that things in space are pretty close together. Also, spending a significant portion of my life explaining and teaching physics to students so they have a conceptual understanding of physics, and reasonable estimation capabilities, I had a great deal of difficulty putting aside that physics knowledge to not have various things in many of the scenes suddenly pull me out of immersion into the movie & think, "uhh, no way."

But, I'd still see it again in 3D
