should i go for the 9700?

local salvage store has 2 left for $150, this is a built by ati 9700 pro, new, undamadged. I have a 4200 8x that barely o/c to 4400 levels, is it worth it for in 1942?

1 gb corsair xms pc3200

is my 4200 holding my system back that much?

Yes the 9700 Pro will make quite a bit of difference especially with AA and AF enabled,run to that store ASAP

For $150, you'd be crazy not to! The 9700 Pro in my 3rd system plays BF 1942 great, and with the Omega 3.9's it looks as good as my 9800np and 9800 Pro.

If they really are 9700 Pro's, get both. Keep one, and sell the other one for ~$190. Easy $40 at least.

Well boys, here is the story. I went down there (i heard about it originally from my friend, did not see it myself) today. I looked and looked, finally i saw my precious. I then got the employee to take it out from behind the glass. I got it in my hands and thanked god for this bountiful harvest. I then decided i should open it to check to make sure everything is there. I opened it slowly with great anticipation and joy. and low, i saw the 3dfx symbol. I jerked the box open and the only thing left inside was instruction manual and Voodoo3. I was sooo pissed, it takes a while for me to get to this salvage store. I reported it to the manager but i doubt they will even take it off the shelf. Some poor chumps gonna buy it and take it home and find a voodoo3. Thank god i looked inside before i bought it.

that's messed up. I really hope the store pulls it off the rack. I would hate for a some person to buy it and get ripped off.
