Ok I am planning on getting this motherboard:

what i need: a motherboard that is good for games,features, and just overall good performance for around $100 no more then $105.

please simply tell me if I should get it or not. If not please put which one I Should get. Keep in mind that I dont know alot about computers so explain it in newbie form. the motherboard that is rated the best for the around the price i listed I will buy.

With an Abit (or Asus/MSI, for that matter), you're going to pay markup for the name. You can still find good quality boards cheaper than that. Decide on features you need (I can't decide this for you--there comes a point where you have to do your own research...) and then buy the cheapest nForce3 250 mobo you can find. I'll give you some suggestions:

Ok, here it is in newbe form. If you dont plan on overclocking then don't worry to much about it. Look for the features you want at a price you are willing to pay and that is what you should get, period.

 
The DFI's regarded as the best OCing motherboard, but if you're not doing really heavy overclocks it is not worth the price premium over the boards mentioned earlier.

I don't see anywhere else for a front intake that wouldn't be at least partially obstructed by the HD rack, so yeah it should probably be there. I suppose you might be able to increase what portion of the air goes farther back into the case by moving the HD to the highest or lowest position on the rack. (I wouldn't worry too much about adjusting this, though, as the extra intake fan--at least in tests with an Antec Sonata--only improved temps a degree or two Celsius.)
 
I'm in the same boat as you my friend. Except I'm looking for a LGA775 motherboard.

I went to ALL the motherboard manufacturer's sites. Yes, all of them (at least all the ones I could think of) That was Soyo, DFI, Epox, ECS, Abit, ASUS, Foxconn, Aopen, Albatron, Asrock, Intel & Gigabyte (someone please tell me if I forgot one, I know I must have). And I looked at every motherboard they all have with the LGA775 socket, and narrowed it down to the perfect one, then used froogle to find the cheapest.

Try doing that.
