My friend has the same monitor, in 17" and its great, I would wholeheartedly give a recommendation, and I doubt he would juxtapose my opinion with another.

yah its a great monitor been using one for about the past 2 years (17in)
All the options are great super bright and stuff are very useful for movies
i would suggets u get one

i would recomend this( http://accessories.us.dell.com..._id=207&first=true ) monitor for 11 more bucks. I own one and it is great. very clear and brgiht. It has .24mm dot pitch vs the nec's .25mm and has an anti-glare faceplate. unless you want the nec because it's max res is 1792x1344 i would go with the m993

Since you're getting a CRT, you might want to consider buying used. So many people are moving to LCD that there is something of a glut. Even if you're distrustful often you go and pickup used CRTs instead of having them shipped so it gives you an extra chance to look it over. I have 1 21" ViewSonic I got 3-4 years back for 200$ off someone leaving my college and another Nokia 21" I got for 160$ (w/ shipping) just recently from a refurb/off-lease place and both have turned out to be great buys.

how long are dells 10% off monitors with free shipping?

i hear really good things about this monitor...its 287 shipped right now...i cant find it used or a refurb anywhere on the internet so im thinking im gonna buy it new from dell as they are supposed to have a great return policy.

you cant go wrong with NEC- i got one of the low end 17" ones about a year ago, and its just awesome. so clear.
