Should I get new drivers?

I have a Viper 770 TNT2U with Det. 2.08 drivers. Should I upgrade and if so, which driver.

Thank You

I am not a big gamer, so updating drivers to get more frame rates is not a big concern.

I will try a newer driver to see if there is any improvement on the games I play: Soldier of Fortune and Carmageddon II.

I saw there are MANY driver updates since my original drivers I installed when I first got my card from V.A. last year. haha

Now that I posted this, the question sounds like someone putting this question on a stereo BBS:

"Should I upgrade from my 8-track player"

😉

I've still got a Viper 770 ultra. Yes, you should update the drivers. It helps. You should always update to the newest drivers with anything. I'm running the 5.13 drivers right now, they work the best for me.

I have tried the 5.32 and 5.2x (can't remember the exact ones) and all have resulted in a slightly flickering screen (as though I have a really slow refresh rate).

I run a TNT2 (Diamond) in a P3C2000 (i820 + MTH!?*&amp😉 but I reckon this is a fairly standard setup (except for an MTH) so I can't quite see whats wrong with it!

OK, I tried 5.30,5.32, and 6.01 and they all have made my games and DVD play like crap.

So I tried to switch back to Det. 2.08 drivers and things are still messed up - DVD is choppy, games have weird effects.

Now I will need to format and reinstall windows

Is is true that you should not install windows over windows if you have different windows CDs? Both are win95 just different CDs. Hey I like '95 and don't like '98. Is there a good enough reason to go with '98?
